Jacques Lapointe joined the pastoral team at East Gate Alliance Church in late 2015 as the Pastor of French Ministry and Pastoral Care. He brings many years of fruitful experience and a caring heart to our church family.
Jacques grew up in Montréal, which is also where he met and married his wife, Juliette. Together, they have three children (Sylvie, Simon and Esther), and are now the proud grandparents of nine grandchildren. Jacques and Juliette were both raised in the Catholic church, but in the spring of 1981, Jacques had a major encounter with Jesus in his car on the side of the road. Right away, Juliette noticed a dramatic change in her husband, and soon after, she gave her life to Jesus as well. Since giving his life to Jesus, Jacques has been heavily involved in church ministry at various levels, from being on pastoral committees and leading prayer meetings to teaching and preaching to adults and children.
In 1994, Jacques and Juliette moved from Montréal to the Ottawa region, in order to help plant a church in Embrun. Then in 2008, after spending over 14 years serving alongside various church groups in Ottawa, Jacques felt the Lord calling his heart to plant a church group in Moncton. He and Juliette packed up their belongings and moved to Moncton, where they served for six years. In 2015, with their now-adult children beginning to have families of their own, both Jacques and Juliette felt a need to move back to Ottawa, in order to be available as a support to their growing family.
