Vulnerable Young Adults

The vulnerable young adults group (“7-Up”) at East Gate Alliance Church has been running since September 2012. At that point in time, we had some wonderful young people with special needs graduating out of our church youth group and they were seeking a group or ministry with leadership support who understood their needs. Since then, the group has grown from 5 to 10 young adults. Participants range in age from 18 to 30 years old.

We usually meet three times per month, on either the Friday, Saturday or Sunday. An event calendar is given to participants showing the activities planned for the upcoming two months.  Some past activities include games nights, sledding, swimming, karaoke, bowling, Winterlude, movies and baking. There is also at least one weekend retreat per year, typically in the fall. Most meetings include a devotional and prayer time to help participants grow in their relationship with God and each other. There is always fun, fellowship, and faith in God’s goodness and care.
