As our Youth & Student Ministries Pastor, Robert is the newest addition to the East Gate Alliance team, having come on board in May 2024. Robert is a recent graduate of Tyndale University, completing his Bachelors in Biblical Studies and Theology in 2021, and expecting to complete his Masters of Divinity in 2024.
Robert and his wife Naomi moved to Ottawa in 2024 when they felt God’s call to ministry at East Gate. Together, they are passionate about family, faith, and music. They can often be seen leading worship together at various ICAC events.
Robert is deeply passionate about the Christ-Centered and spiritually-formed life, seeking to model all his teachings and way-of-being on the subversive heart of Jesus himself. He loves conversations about theology and philosophy, and believes Jesus’ model of life is the answer to humanity’s deepest questions. His ministry style is focused on relationships, and he’d love to grab a coffee with you sometime!
Away from the office, he can be found reading (Henri Nouwen, C.S. Lewis, and John Mark Comer are a few of his favorites!), listening to his extensive and eclectic vinyl-record collection, photography, and spending time outdoors.
